Mary Jean Richardson – British School Scholarship Winner

The recipient of the first British School (Rome) Scholarship was announced Wednesday 28th November 2012. Artist Mary Jean Richardson was awarded this scholarship aimed at helping emerging South Australian artists undertake a three month residency at the British School at Rome, Britain’s leading humanities research institute abroad and one of the most prestigious foreign academies in the Italian capital.

The Australian Experimental Art Foundation (AEAF), Cibo Espresso Australia and the Helpmann Academy will offer this scholarship to an emerging artist every year for the next five years. Emerging artists can find out more information here.

Helpmann Academy Graduate Show

For the chance to see the soon-to-be-big-name artists check out the Helpmann Academy’s annual graduate exhibition at the Torrens Parade Ground. It showcases the creme of Adelaide Central School of Art, UniSA’s School of Art, Architecture and Design and the Adelaide College of the Arts. Chris Bull from the Helpmann Academy runs through the show with Nikki Marcel.
