Russell Drysdale’s Drawings of Drought

Russell Drysdale, in one of the great Australian artists of the 20th Century. He’s not as well known for his drawings as he is for his paintings but there’s an exhibition at Carrick Hill which will open your eyes to this side of his work. Curator, Lou Klepac talks to Ewart Shaw about the curious circumstances that sent Drysdale, the war artist into the outback, and it was all to do with drought.
