Seven internationally recognised sculptors are busy angle grinding, diamond drilling, hammering and chiseling away in front of onlookers at Hans Heyson’s old home, The Cedars, in Handorff. Led by Adelaide’s own Silvio Apponyi the sculptors are part way through their 20 day marathon. They’re turning massive blocks of granite and marble into 8 stone sculptures which will become part of a new sculpture trail in the Adelaide Hills. Chris Steele Scott is the marketing manager of the Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium and talks with Nikki Marcel about seeing the project literally take form.
